Salt Lake's Destination Situation

Salt Lake regional economy has grown significantly over the past ten years. Private and public investment in venues, attractions and hospitality assets have heightened its destination appeal, all under the leadership of an active and engaged destination marketing organization.

Still, Salt Lake’s entrenched stereotypes tied to cultural heritage (itself powerful and unique destination attributes), our outdoor adventure lifestyle and legacy regulations have manifested as negative perception constraints which limit travel related economic growth vs. our competitive destinations.

Similar perception constraints hamper the efforts of Salt Lake business and economic development leaders as they compete globally for investment capital and workforce talent to support sustainable development and quality of life at the County and state levels.
